Privacy policy

What we collect

There is nothing to sign up for on MowerRanker: no accounts, no newsletter, and payment details are never asked for. The one place we ask for your name and email address is the contact form, where what you type is emailed to us so we can reply and is not stored on the site.

The web server keeps ordinary request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) the way nearly every site does. They exist to keep the site running and secure, and they rotate out automatically.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and comparisons are useful. Google sets cookies to distinguish visitors and reports aggregate traffic to us; we do not see who you are. You can opt out with the Google Analytics browser add-on or by blocking third-party cookies.

Your listing filters are kept in your browser's session storage so returning from a mower page restores the list you were on. That data never leaves your browser and clears when the tab closes.

Amazon affiliate links

MowerRanker is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you follow a 'Buy at Amazon' link, Amazon sets a cookie that attributes purchases made in the following 24 hours to this site, and we earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and commissions never affect which mowers appear, how they rank, or what the cons say.

Links to a manufacturer's or retailer's own store carry no tracking parameters and earn nothing. Prices on this site are approximate and based on our last catalog update; the price on the retailer's site at the time of purchase applies.

Third-party links

Some pages link to manufacturer or retailer sites. Once you leave MowerRanker, those sites' own privacy policies apply — we don't control what they collect.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.
